Vocalist / songwriter Freddy Curci and guitarist Steve DeMarchi have already enjoyed their share of the spotlight as former members of SHERIFF who achieved a good deal of success in the early ’80s. After Sheriff disbanded the two went their separate ways for a while before eventually meeting up again and buying a 16-track studio, which they duly installed in DeMarchi’s basement, they then began working on some music while holding on to a succession of day jobs.

After the release of their glammy hard rock debut album ‘Not A Pretty Sight’, which sold pretty well especially in Japan and Germany but suffered from logistic distribution in America, SKIN & BONES’ manager anyway secured a tour across the United States supporting KIX.

Perhaps not well known for ’80s hard rock aficionados due not so well promoted at the time, American act SKIN & BONES were a very good glam rockin’ band plenty of melodic n’ catchy hooks. As requested, here’s the band 1990’s debut album in its Japanese edition including 2 bonus tracks.

Hailing from Baltimore but based in New York, SKIN & BONES had it all: strong songs with MTV / radio potential, the looks, and a debut album – “Not A Pretty Sight” – recorded in England with a top class production team of ex Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor and legend Mike Fraser, who also mixed the whole thing.

When it comes to rare AOR albums this one is without a doubt one of the more elusive. “Heaven Calls” is the 1992’s CD by Finnish singer / musician Patrik Linman, who mostly worked as songwriter and producer for others.
Originally released by the tiny local Traccer Music label, a big chunk of the CD pressing was destroyed and since then, became a collectors item as the music packed inside is top class AOR / Melodic Rock crafted with Scandinavian finesse. The few CD copies circulating on the second hand market go for insane prices.
Now thanks to Patrik and producer Clas Holm, LINMAN ”Heaven Calls” is getting a full makeover. The album has been remastered by Clas, giving the songs more punch and brilliance.

As part of the ‘Norske Albumklassikere 80-tallet’ series from the excellent Norwegian reissue label Norske Albumklassikere – which seems to have access to almost every Norwegian release from the 70s and 80s – here we have in exclusive the re-release of OLE Evenrude fourth solo album, 1987’s “This Ole Town“.
Ole Evenrud’s first appearance came in 1981 on the compilation album Big Voice of New Noise, and was given the name ‘Ole i’Dole’. After three albums under Ole I’Dole moniker, he changed his name to just OLE.
With the focus to get international exposure, in 1987 OLE Evenrude entered into a partnership with Brian Lane (Yes, Asia, Buggles, etc.) as manager. T
