Previously known for his immediate, radio-ready melodic rock tunes, RICK SPRINGFIELD changed the general approach of his music delivery with the mid-Eighties record “TAO“. With a production design, arrangements and studio tricks technically far beyond its year, the album was unleashed to the world at the end of 1985.
It was a stellar departure from anything Rick had ever tried before: elaborated Hi-tech AOR melodies with a complex musical background, a heavy mix of processed guitars, synthesizers, vocal effects, sampling and drum machines.
This Rock Candy Records remastered reissue takes advantage of that huge multi-track glossy original production and gave the album a pristine remastering treatment. As result we hear new layers of sound.
BERNIE CHIARAVALLE’s lengthy association with Michael McDonald goes back to the late Eighties – Bernie is the guitarist since 1988 – but he’s also fashioned an intriguing solo career away from the Doobie Brothers legend. They initially met through Chiaravalle’s work with Ambrosia’s David Pack, and Chiaravalle then contributed extensively on McDonald’s Blue Obsession and subsequent albums.

As part of the Sony Music Japan Blu-Spec CD2 / DSD remastering reissue of some JOURNEY classic albums, here’s 1986’s “Raised On Radio” , as requested, in max quality.
Journey’s ninth new studio album “Raised On Radio” found the group reduced to a trio of guitarist Neal Schon, singer Steve Perry, and keyboard player Jonathan Cain. They lost their regular rhythm section, but to be honest, Journey only needed these 3 members who always provided the songwriting, arrangements, and in short, the band’s appeal.
As requested, here’s the Cherry Red Records / Lemon Recordings reissue of ALDO NOVA 1991’s album “Blood On The Bricks“. During the ’80s Nova collaborated with Jon Bon Jovi with some songwriting / arrangements for Bon Jovi (the band), helping lay the foundation for the superbly crafted pop-metal sound that Bon Jovi rode to superstardom.
After a six-year absence of self-imposed exile occurred after his unhappiness with the music business, Aldo Nova released “Blood On The Bricks” in 1991, with Jon returning the favor helping with co-writing, production and backing vocals. Even more: Jon arranged the record deal for the album release.
It’s a bit ironic that Nova, whose splendid self-titled 1982 debut album and sing
3 concerts of the former leader of Family in the German Rock Palaces. Vocalist and showman Chapman is outstanding, he looks just fine. The quality was decent for the time.
