Recorded in the 80s & 90s, ”Next Stop L.A.” was Frédéric Slama’s 2nd AOR album released in 2001. Many songs on this album were only demos, re-recorded with different singers years later for the more ‘professional’ AOR releases.
However, these early versions – many taped in 1985 with the help of Michael Thompson, Carlos Vega, Richard Page – have their own charm, and the singers featured, while unknown, are very good.
”Next Stop L.A.” contains the blueprint of many songs that would become AOR (the band)classics later on. All tracks are completely different from the ones with the same name in more recent CD’s from the band.
Long time out of print, it’s now available again almost 20 years later, rema
For any AOR / Melodic Rock fan this is a must have, for the simple reason that it includes some of the best musicians from the genre delivering great performances.Well produced and written, “The Colors Of L.A.” is a delicatessen.

No More Johnny “SLAM!” will wet the appetites of Melodic Rock fans with the Sykes/Wylde guitar styling of Scott Miller. NO MORE JOHNNY has been described as a blues based AOR Crunch Guitar machine! This is a must for anyone that loves crunchy guitars. The melodic drenched Keyboards of Chris Konys with Distinctive soulful vocals of paul Hendricks and a rhythm section that has punch.
The melodic moments here are pretty good and quite pleasing to the ear (though not always thrilling) but there are some truly dud rock song fillers here.

Lead by singer and songwriter Rod Marenna, AOR / melodic rockers MARENNA “Pieces Of Tomorrow”, their fourth official release presenting a new phase for the band, showing a mature sound without losing their essence alternating between ’80s Melodic Rock / AOR and the current sound of the genre, especially from Scandinavia.
However, to my ears, Rod Marenna’s true love is Journey / Steve Perry music, and from there comes his inspiration.
Compared to Marenna previous material, this 2020 side of the band is much more rocking, edgy than before, pretty melodic hard rock at places, something you can hear on ‘Getting Higher’.
There’s pulsating rockers in ‘Reason to Live’, the catchy ‘About Love’, the anthemic ‘No Regrets’ and the

In 2015 Frederic Slama released one of his best AOR albums called “Return To L.A”. This CD was a private pressing quickly sold out. I’m sure if you check your AOR album collection “Return To L.A” is missing for most of you. Additionally, the album / CD was pressed with a very low sound signal.
Now “Return To L.A” is being officially reissued / remastered with a proper sound quality by Parry Records.
If you are one of the thinkers that all AOR albums sound the same, you better check “Return To L.A”: this is one of the most rocking and consistent – if not the best – of all, featuring the likes of Jesse Damon (Silent Rage, Kiss), Tommy Funderburk (King Of Hearts, Airplay), Paul Sabu (Only Child, Kidd Glove
add link for download,Guitarist JOHN NORUM left Europe in 1986 at the very height of their popularity, and soon after released his first solo album, “Total Control“, now wonderfully remastered by Rock Candy Records with the addition of 6 bonus tracks.
Recruiting a new backing band of long-time musical friends (including Marcel Jacob, a former Europe member on bass) and Göran Edman for lead vocals, “Total Control” mix Europe’s melodic side with an edgy, guitar driven hard rock sound. This remaster is terrific, and the bonus track real pearls; the live version of Thin Lizzy’s ‘Bad Reputation’ worth this CD alone.
