Rare gem, the kind of album you might grab on Record Store Day because you thought the cover art is silly – and a year later you’re still spinning it. This is a reissue of Spider’s first two albums. The first 10 songs (their first album) are brilliant! There’s heaps of energy, good songwriting, and the *amazing* voice of Amanda Blue. The band includes Anton Fig (now the drummer in David Letterman’s band) and Holly Knight (one of the top songwriters of the 1980s.) This was one of my favorite albums on vinyl and it holds up extremely well today.

As a passionate Sammy Hagar fan, I, of course, have a complaint with The Essential Red Collection. For my tastes, I wished they’d left out one or two of the more melodic rock styled songs and included another couple of Sammy’s hard rockers.

Tango In The Night is FINALLY getting its due with a deluxe remaster on its thirtieth anniversary. This is one of my very favorite Fleetwood Mac albums. I was 9 when this album was released and I remember hearing the singles all over the radio. For previous Fleetwood Mac releases (excluding the 2004 remasters of The White Album, Rumours, and Tusk, which were only available in standard CD format), Rumours (2013), Tusk (2015), and Mirage (2016), I only purchased the “expanded” versions rather than the deluxe. For Tango I purchased the deluxe format because I wanted remastered copies of the original 12″ remixes from 1987 as well as the promotional videos and the DVD audio. I don’t currently own a record player but if I ever do, I now have the vinyl.
