After the suitably titled ‘Intro’ instrumental Guild Of Ages show their love of a little prog on ‘Deep In Heaven’, that deftly mixes melodic rock and a few extended musical passages. The song’s intro sweeps in on a glorious mix of keys, strings and guitar.

Easily among the best melodic rock / AOR albums appeared during the last decade, “The Usual Suspects” is fantastic. Joe Lynn Turner never has released a bad album, and this one is for me the best under his own full name.

Ice Water Mansion was formed back in 1978 by drummer Charlie Austin. The band’s lineup of members had numerous changes throughout its early years and there is little documentation available to be able to tell who was playing at what times from 1978 to 1983. Some of the known members prior to 1983 included Charlie Austin, Jeff Gardiner, Matt Neu, Pudge Norton, Dave Burns, Hansiell Dunn, Joel Dodge and Jeff McCollumn.
