Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom, with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music.

Esoteric Recordings / Cherry Red Records has recently turned its attention to the Polydor discography of melodic prog giants BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST for the reissue of their acclaimed 1977’s LP “Gone To Earth“, featuring a 24-bit Remastered Original Stereo Mix on one disc, and a New Stereo Mix & Bonus Tracks on the other.


It’s great to hear the original album finely remastered, but the star here is the New Stereo Mix which is awesome, fuller, and utilizing different multi-track parts never used.
