Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom, with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music.

New album of the California / USA based prog Rock Formation PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS, which was launched by the long-time Spock’s Beard Songwriter/producer John Boegehold (synths, keys) in 2018 and in which the current Spock’s Beard members Ted Leonard (voc) and Dave Meros (B) as well as with Jimmy Keegan also the former Drummer of this Band are located.

After releasing their self-titled debut last year, PATTERN SEEKING ANIMALS are now releasing their second studio album, “Prehensile Tales”, on May 15, 2020, which was once again recorded and mixed by Rich Mouser at ‘the Mouse House’ and on which the Band has expanded its sonic scope by incorporating violin, flute, trumpet, Cello, saxophone and Pedal steel guitar.
