Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom, with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music.

“THE DAY IS DONE” is our fourth studio album, which will contain 8 brand new songs and will be released in autumn 2018. “THE DAY IS DONE” is a concept album and starting from the disaster of The Grenfell Tower in London, on 14th June 2017, tells and explores a story of alienation and pain of two brothers who left their country, trying to find a better life in Europe, but finding the death in Grenfell Fire. It’s a true story.
For “THE DAY IS DONE” the band has involved, among the others, special guests such as COLIN EDWIN, the bassist of (PORCUPINE TREE and O.R.K.) and GEOFF LEIGH, flutist and saxophonist (STEVEN WILSON, EX-WISE HEADS, HENRY COW and many others). Once again, MARK TUCKER (JETHRO TULL) is the co-producer and sound engineer of the album. “THE DAY IS DONE”
Since the release of their debut album “Flies in Amber Stones” in 2015, Hillward, the heavy progressive rock quintet from Quebec, has been fine-tuning its craft playing local shows including the well known Festival d’Été de Québec in 2016, as well as various opening sets for major bands such as Symphony X and Uriah Heep.

Dappled Jay was born in 2015 in Helsinki, Finland on a cold winter day. The Finnish power trio was founded by three rock dudes Aleksi Sandberg (vocals, guitars), Jukka-Pekka Vironen (drums) and Jari Rautiainen (bass) and it is a fresh new rock act in music scene. The band’s music is a mixture of 70’s style rock grooves, thundering rhythms, and the elements of progressive rock. The group is influenced by a range of classic rock, from progressive rock bands such as Rush and Pink Floyd, to classic rockers such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, to Finnish prog/psychedelic rock bands such as Kingston Wall and Von Hertzen Brothers.

Overall, ELLESMERE II sounds way more energetic and varied compared to the previous work, that was dominated by flute and acoustic guitars. Listening to the whole album, it’s not difficult to find similarities with the great prog acts of the past: Yes immediately does spring to mind, but also King Crimson during the rawest parts (a quote from RED is hidden in the second track), UK challenging jazz prog, the symphonic attitude of ELP, Kansas tension towards melody,
the breathtaking chord changing sequences typical of Magellan and Cairo, the intimate and gloomy mood from early Peter Gabriel productions. The brief instrumental section that opens the album is the evocative trait d’union between the last track of the previous work, still hazy and filled with the sounds of nature, and this new journey int
