Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom, with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music.
Echoes of Giants is a melodic progressive rock band from Missouri. Their debut album “At the End of Myself” was release in July 2013 and the follow up, titled “The Way to Us” will be released in August 2018.

The album, while not entirely breaking new ground, knows what it needs to do and does it well. The bluesy opening riff belies what comes next, with everything from Sevendust-detuned-groove and swagger, to brass and New Orleans band moments that Diablo Swing Orchestra
would love, to the aforementioned sweet and sour singing passage from Houry Dora Apartian, to even piano balladry and just a slight hint of chip-tune, and plenty of great keyboard moments all throughout.

Lux Terminus was formed by keyboard player Vikram Shankar (Redemption) along with his old bandmates from progressive rock band Gravity, Matthew Kerschner (drums) and Brian Craft (bass). Led by Shankar’s piano playing, Lux Terminus plays a style of instrumental progressive rock informed equally by metal, jazz fusion, and cinematic music.
