The legendary The Police, who gave the world Sting and ceased their activities more than twenty years ago, in 2005 released a DVD version of their most successful album, “Synchronicity”.
The DVD “The Police – Synchronicity Concert” includes a recording of the 1983 Atlanta concert that The Police gave as part of their world tour. The DVD also includes rare interviews with the band, a theatrical trailer and an additional multi-view clip from another Synchronicity show in Montreal. But that’s not all – the disc also contains interviews with band members during the final concert in Melbourne in 1984.

First released in May 1970, at the height of the Beatles’ breakup, “Let It Be” now holds its rightful place in the band’s history. Once shot through a darker lens, the film is now brought into the light thanks to its restoration and the context of revelations made in Peter Jackson’s 2021 multiple Emmy Award-winning documentary The Beatles: Get Back.

Transatlantic are easily one of the best of the current progressive-rock bands, since they are essentially a prog-rock supergroup. As a band, they are often better than their individual parts, which consist of Spock’s Beard – Neal Morse, Dream Theater – Mike Portnoy, The Flower Kings – Royne Stolt, and Marillion – Pete Traveres.

I’m sure I’ll get much disagreement from all of the progonauts out there, but Transatlantic are certainly putting out better music than the recent stuff being released by these bands.
