Legendary Irish guitarist Rory Gallagher played the renowned Montreux Festival on five occasions, spanning his breakthrough years in the mid-’70s right up to the year before his tragic early death at the age of 47 in 1995. This double DVD brings together material from all five shows to create the definitive Rory Gallagher live collection. Disc one features tracks from 1975, 1977, 1979 and 1985, while disc two has the whole concert from 1994 and bonus acoustic tracks from the earlier years.

The concert of the great blues-rock vocalist in the Berlin Metropol, which marked the beginning of a new takeoff in his career (after a period of alcohol addiction), was recorded in 1980 and became a decoration of the famous series “The Rockpalast Collection”.

The recording of this concert has already gone through several editions released by Eagle Vision at different times. This American version is the latest option. What makes it different is the restored picture and careful elaboration of the sound. The result is an artifact-free screen and a DTS track.

This show was filmed at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in California on June 12, 1982 as part of the delayed continuation of the ‘Diary Of A Madman’ tour following the tragic death of Randy Rhoads a few months earlier. The audio has been digitally restored and remastered and is now available in DTS and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound for the first time.
