When the Los Angeles hair metal scene was storming the charts in ’88 with bands like Guns ‘N’ Roses, Faster Pussycat, LA Guns and Warrant, CITY FIXX were a bunch of rock ‘n’ roll from Rockville, Maryland, who wanted their own piece of the pie.
– Armed with some of the best glam/sleaze anthems ever heard, CITY FIXX had Kim Fowley (Runaways) at their side and a fervent fan base filling local clubs at their performances.
In the rich history of Chicago’s heavy metal scene, the name RUNNER can be considered a footnote in the annals of that city’s impressive roster. The band began covering Priest and Maiden songs in 1985 before taking a more melodic direction in ’86, aiming for a more commercial sound.
