Twenty years after their debut first burst out of Modena in a shower of double-kick drums, candy wrappers and HELLOWEEN-sized choruses, TRICK OR TREAT return to “Evil Needs Candy Too” and rebuild it from the ground up. Same songs, same mischievous spirit — but played with two decades of stage scars, tighter muscles and a much bigger sonic punch.
Originally released on Halloween 2006, “Evil Needs Candy Too” introduced a young Italian band whose love for classic European power metal was impossible to miss. The speed, the huge melodies, the humor and the bright vocal harmonies all carried the unmistakable influence of early HELLOWEEN, but even then TRICK OR TREAT were already developing the playful personality that would later become their trademark.

Spanish heavy metal veterans WARCRY return with “Entre La Niebla”, a compact nine-track album built on sharp riffs, soaring melodies and Víctor García’s unmistakable voice. Twenty-five years in, the band sound seasoned rather than softened — still heroic, still melodic, but with more shadow around the edges.
The album arrives as WARCRY celebrate their 25th anniversary, and there is a sense of reflection running through the material without turning the record into a nostalgia trip. The songwriting feels direct and focused, balancing the band’s classic power-metal instincts with heavier grooves and more introspective themes.

Spanish metallers CRÛMMY return with “Atlas”, a heavier and more mature second album where groove, thrash and progressive metal collide with darker melodies and a stronger sense of identity. The riffs hit harder this time, but the band leave enough space for atmosphere, clean vocals and real emotional weight.
Coming out of Málaga, CRÛMMY have spent the last few years sharpening this material onstage before finally committing it to record. That live mileage shows: the songs feel built to move a room, with dense rhythm guitars, aggressive grooves and choruses that open up instead of simply piling on more distortion.

Canadian metal maniacs POWERMÖNGER hit the underground with a debut EP that sounds like it was smuggled out of 1985 in a crate of leather jackets and overheated amplifiers. Fast, sharp and gloriously unrefined, this is heavy/speed metal with the safety catch removed.
Hailing from Vancouver, POWERMÖNGER build their sound around razor-edged riffs, high-energy rhythms and the kind of choruses made for rooms full of raised fists. There is no attempt to modernize the formula into something slicker or safer; the band clearly love the danger, dirt and immediacy of early speed metal.
The title track opens with exactly the right amount of arrogance, while “Leather Legions” sounds tailor-made for denim, studs and sore necks. “Hellfighter”
Big Jim Kohler keeps “Two Dollars Short” lean, dirty and straight to the point. Eight tracks, half an hour and plenty of bar-room blues attitude — the kind of record that sounds like the amps were already warm before anyone hit record.
Kohler has spent years living in the club circuit rather than orbiting around it from a distance. That experience shows in the way these songs move: no wasted gestures, no overworked arrangements, just guitar, groove and the confidence of somebody who knows exactly how long a blues phrase needs to breathe.
“Jim Dont Lie” opens with a strong, lived-in feel before “One Trick Pony” stretches beyond six minutes and gives the album room to settle into a deeper pocket. “Kohler’s in Nola” brings
DR. WILL & THE WIZARDS go straight back to the source on “One for the Road”, tearing through a fistful of blues standards with the amps warm and the studio doors seemingly left open. Raw, loose and full of bar-room smoke, this is blues played for feel rather than perfection.
For his tenth full-length album, Dr. Will brought The Wizards into Munich’s Downhill Studio with a simple plan: set up, play together and let the songs breathe. Thirteen blues classics were cut in just two days, essentially live in the room and without the usual layers of studio repair.
That approach suits this band perfectly. Their music has always carried a little New Orleans dirt, roots-rock swing and theatrical madness, and here those ingredients are all
KOES’MO’ do exactly what the title promises: play the blues without embalming it. “That’s What People Call The Blues” is warm, road-worn and full of personality, with Fritz Koester’s guitar and voice trading stories against Max “Mojo” Moritz’s deep, unhurried bass.
Koester and Moritz have shared stages and studios for more than forty years, crossing paths with musicians such as Otis Grand, Dave Kelly, Steve Baker, B.B. King, Eb Davis and Tyree Glenn Jr. That mileage shows here, not through flashy playing but through confidence — the songs know when to push, when to swing and when to leave a little dirt between the notes.
The title track sets the mood with a relaxed groove and a knowing grin, while “Born Un
Finnish roots veterans 3RD CALL MEN keep things loose and alive on “Waiting For A Call”, a warm, greasy mix of blues, rock ’n’ roll, boogie and funk recorded with the kind of live-room chemistry that polished records often sand away. Nothing feels overworked; the groove gets first say.
Formed in Helsinki in 2024, the band describe themselves as a playground for old dogs, and that attitude suits the album perfectly. There is no obsession with staying inside one genre box — if a song swings, growls or simply feels good, it gets to stay.
“Chased By Time” kicks things off with a brisk rock ’n’ roll pulse, while “Hoodoo Against Your Voodoo” settles into a dirtier blues groove with plenty of room for the guitars to breathe.
SCOTT HEPPLE AND THE SUN BAND – Wyrd Seasons (2026)
Scott Hepple and The Sun Band return with “Wyrd Seasons”, a heavier, moodier and more inward-looking record where psychedelic rock, fuzz, folk and hard-rock weight all bleed into one another. The ’70s spirit is still there, but this time it feels less like nostalgia and more like something dragged through present-day dirt.
After “English Mustard”, the band deliberately stripped away some of the overt retro worship and focused more on the world around them. The result is a record that still carries traces of NEIL YOUNG, BLACK SABBATH, PENTANGLE and UNCLE ACID, but sounds more personal and less interested in wearing its influences on the sleeve.
