Always here or there. Jesse Ballard shows up all over the world for shows with the band or as a duo with Joe or solo or sometimes with a big band. Originally from Calirfornia the man with the voice is at home in any number of different countries. Berlin was home base for a long time and sometimes still is, so was London, but then there was Spain, Italy, and many other places.
The band is like that too. The Sensational Saxophone Joe, Jesse’s longtime partner, hails from the Czeck Republic, Hans Hartmann (Bass) is from Switzerland, and Dimitris Christidis (Drums) is the Greek from Athens. Difficult to classify, the music has many influences. Jesse’s punchy melodic songwriting is joined by a band that is at home in jazz, blues, rock, and folk-Americana. The band has been roadtested for over 20 years and is like an organic soup. It all just works together like a Mercedes Benz. The soon to be released album Constantly In View is a collection of songs ranging from whimsical love songs to serious observations of the consequences of war to a sea saga, to a song of life’s hope and desperation written for Theo Kriegers new film Beautiful Bitch .
