1989’s We May Not Be American But We Still **ck is the debut (and only) release from European sleaze rockers B!tch’s Brue. This is your basic sleazy hair metal album with a raspy female vocalist. Think Smashed Gladys, only sloppier, with a Pretty Boy Floyd image. In fact, it’s pretty obvious the band spent more time worrying about that image than they did learning to play instruments or writing halfway decent songs. This is amateur sleaze rock all the way.
We May Not Be American isn’t the worst hair metal album I’ve heard, but it’s not anything special either. If you’re a serious – and I mean, buy every band with lipstick and spandex serious, hair metal fan, you’ll probably want to check out B!tch’s Brue. Otherwise, save your money and just play some Smashed Gladys or Faster Pussycat albums.
