Americade – Heroes Are Back 1980 – 1995

The fourth addition to Americade’s “Americadence” box set is called “Heroes Are Back” and contains previously unreleased recordings from sessions during 1984 and 1986. The 1984 sessions were recorded at the legendary Kaufman Astoria Studio in New York and produced by noted producer Ben Rizzi. Those songs were intended for a full movie production called “Electric Prophet” (loosely based on the life of Jimi Hendrix) which never saw light of day.

Everafter – Delusions…and other tales 2002

Many say the music is reminiscient of a melodic classic rock style with elements of acoustic driven progressive folk-rock – with thought provoking lyrics. The band leans on 3 part harmonies to accentuate the melody lines. The songs address everything from the struggles of everyday life to hope for the future.

First time ever on cd for Boston-based Melodic Hard Rock / Melodic Metal act THE PACT. Formed in 1984 , these recordings were all taken from sessions throughout the mid to late 80s. Powerful Hard Rock bordering on Commercial Metal that equates to another great find for collectors and fans of obscure 80s releases like RECKLESS ‘No Frills’ , MASS ‘New Birth’ , METALWOLF ‘Down to the Wire’ , AXTION ‘Look Out For The Night’ , VYPER ‘Prepared To Strike’ , HYDE ‘Hyde’ , ROCK CANDY ‘Sucker For A Pretty Face’ etc…

Aura Surreal – Sanity Awakes 2010

Our newest addition to subsidiary Retrothrash Records is a brand new band out of St George , Utah – AURA SURREAL. An awesome blend of Power and Thrash Metal , Sanity Awakes showcase crunching guitar riffs , a stomping rhythm section , shredding solos and powerful melodic vocals – no cookie monsters here. Thunderbox – Thunderbox 2000

Thunderbox were a band from Florida during the 1970’s and reformed in 2000 to record material they had originally written back then. Featuring the very talented guitarist/vocalist David Mikeal (of renowned bands MPG, DAVID and TIN HOUSE) — they play a fantastic mix of AOR, melodic rock, southern rock, hard rock and some progressive rock flourishes with plenty of extended jams! Boasting awesome production, well written songs, great vocals with smooth harmonies, lots of twin guitar solo’s and flashy guitar/keyboard interplay.

Cutthroat – It Must Suck To Be You 2013

Following the demise of Milwaukee’s MEGATON BLONDE , drummer Mike Stix (also ex-REALM) would go on to form a heavier band with vocalist Mark Woydelko , Guitarist Jimmy Furlong , and Bassist Scott Meyer called CUTTHROAT. Recorded in the early 90s , this is the first time ever on cd for their debut release. This is straight-up 80s-style U.S. Power Metal drawing influences from bands like Crimson Glory, Mercyful Fate , Black Sabbath , Riot , Malice and Flotsam & Jetsam.

Ironclad – Metal Monster 1993

Following their tenure in the excellent Pennsylvania-based melodic hard rock band “PYRAMID” (and 2 killer releases available here at Retrospect!) , bassist extraordinaire Steve Kessler and guitar virtuoso Victor Chiarella split lead vocal duties and formed IRONCLAD. The quality and signature sound of Pyramid is still there but Ironclad ventures a little more into the Melodic Metal and Power Metal genres. Everything is a few notches louder and heavier. The killer guitar riffs and shredding solo’s are present all over this slamming release as are the powerhouse drums and perhaps the biggest surprises are the aweso
