Zevious – Lowlands (2018)

After forming in 2006 as a straight ahead jazz group, guitarist Mike Eber, drummer Jeff Eber, and bassist Johnny DeBlase immediately broke free of the bonds of tradition. The trio began combining progressive rock grooves, tech metal, free improv, and complex song forms to create a unique compositional style. Equally influenced by vintage progressive acts such as Magma and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, polymetric metal like Meshuggah, and the improvisational approach of Vijay Iyer and Ben Monder, Zevious is a distinctive fusion band in the burgeoning punk-jazz movement.

It all starts at the Cherry High School Orchestra, when the magic of the music operates, and binds in a somewhat narrow way, these four young musicians … Alix, Florian, Nico and Raph play together for the show of the year 2010 called “TEMPO”, which lacks some Rock N ‘Roll in the eyes of these in the eyes of these rebellious teenagers?
