Sanhedrin – The Poisoner (2019)

Sanhedrin’s sound is familiar but not derivative. While their songwriting is clearly rooted in the classics, their take on rock and metal comes across as fresh and honest. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Sanhedrin’s sound is a combination of the toughness and beauty that their home borough embodies.

Megadeth – The System Has Failed (2019 – Remaster)

This is the first record I’ve heard since “Peace Sells” to have such a similar sound with such raw intensity while also having elements of the other albums I mentioned, which definitely makes this a special album.

A Hero for the World – West to East, Pt. II: Space Ranger (2019)

Singing lessons would be something fine – or a gag. Because musically “West to East Pt. II – Space Ranger “, but the potential can not be exploited due to the vocal weaknesses, the sometimes blatant quality differences in the sound and the unclean production. You may congratulate A HERO FOR THE WORLD for perseverance and stamina, but that does not make the present album any better. After sleepless nights and unspeakable auditory canal pain of the reviewer is now soon a risk supplement due.

Mastord – Trail of Consequence (2019)

Mastord was assembled during 2018, piece by piece. Kari did the demo of album during 2016-2017 and played it to producer/engineer Teemu Aalto. The whole production was really rough and thin at that point. They thought that there is much more to dig out from these compositions than Kari ever could have accomplished by himself. The decision to find good and skillfull instrumentalists and vocalist to this project was made.

Calaveras – Hell Will Decide (2019)

Saitama based guitarist Ken Kishi has put together a four piece band to play ‘American Hard Rock’ with an eighties feel. Vocalist Doug Wilson is an actual American, so I guess the English will be precise enough, though I guess you lose that authentic ‘Engrish’ feel Wink This is their first album.
