Carlos Santana & Wayne Shorter – Live at Montreux 1988 [2005, DVD]

Carlos Santana & Wayne Shorter “Live at Montreux 1988” released on CD and DVD.It began almost as a lark when Carlos Santana encountered his longtime friend and hero Wayne Shorter on the concert trail in Atlanta, GA, in 1987. Carlos said, “Let’s start a rumor that we’re putting a band together.”
Wayne’s eyes got bigger and brighter as he smiled and then responded: “Yeah, Carlos, let’s start a rumor.” A few months later the Carlos Santana/Wayne Shorter Band performed its debut concert at The Fillmore in San Francisco, the beginning of a 26-concert tour throughout the U.S. and Europe. The performance of this magnificent band was recorded at Montreux, Switzerland, on July 14, 1988, and

COBRA – Live Bite! November 27, 1983, Memphis (KBFH radio vinyl LP)

And to complete the COBRA / Jimi Jamison saga here we go with the band’s concert in Memphis while presenting their debut LP First Bite. This is a recording for radio broadcast pretty common move for band’s promotion at the time.
Into the Live Bite! set-list we find songs never recorded into the studio by COBRA – and some which become hits for others, like MSG (Schenker), or VAN ZANT.

While there’s a bootleg of this show floating the internet, it’s with cuts and not in this quality sound: this is taken from the vinyl LP pressed for the broadcast. Usually only few were made, not for sale.

BABYLON A.D. – Nothing Sacred +3 bonus [Bad Reputation Remastered] (2021)

First time reissued in fully remastered form, here’s in exclusive the recent Bad Reputation Records release of BABYLON A.D. killer album “Nothing Sacred“, including 3 bonus tracks.

Babylon A.D. enjoyed a small success with their selftitled debut (1989) album and they still gained trust from Arista Records to release this second album in 1992. Their musical style here is like a collision between WARRANT and the smoky, locomotive rock and roll of AEROSMITH. They’re also heavily influenced by the classic rock acts such as LED ZEPPELIN, AC/DC, and UFO.
Take a winning team, complete it with Tom Werman at the production helm, and you get a pretty awesome second chapter from the band.

COBRA – The Making Of First Strike [the 1982 demos]

here’s COBRA original demos, the first material recorded with Jimi Jamison in 1982. Many of these songs didn’t make it into the official 1983 ‘First’ Strike’ album but are as good as any of them.

This is the tape dispatched to all major labels. A&R guru John Kalodner from Geffen passed on singing the band saying of Jamison vocals; “We already have one David Coverdale, why do we need another?” But Doreen Reilly, a talent scout from Epic, resulted impressed by the band and immediately signed them. The rest is history.
”The Making Of First Strike” demos is a collectible tape, with a more biting guitar by the great Mandy Meyer, while the overall sound quality is very good.
