For the first time in their long career, Irish rock stars U2 have released on DVD a concert they played in their home country of Ireland. November 17, 2003 saw the release of the DVD ‘U2 Go Home’ featuring the band’s performance at Slane Castle.
In 2001, U2 played two shows there for 160,000 people at the end of the Elevation tour. Slane Castle is an iconic location for the group. In 1984, they recorded the album ‘The Unforgettable Fire’ there, which launched U2 worldwide fame. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the event, a film about the album has been remastered and included on DVD.
