Live in Phoenix is the first live video release from Arizona’s Flotsam and Jetsam, which was released on June 22, 2004. The band had worked for 20 years before releasing anything like this. The DVD includes a live set recorded in July 2003 in their hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. The set opens with “No Place for Disgrace”.
The songs are from every album from 1986’s debut Doomsday for the Deceiver to 2001’s My God, just not High. The setlist is a mixture of crisp, high-octane Thrash Metal and groovy, almost progressive pieces, as well as quieter moments. “Hammerhead”, from the debut album, is pure Thrash, while 1999’s “Chemical Noose” is a peppy and groovy smasher. “Wading through the Darkness” is a very somber track with a slow tempo, but it also works well live.
