Semblant – Vermilion Eclipse 2022

Frontiers Music Srl is proud to present the latest release from Brazilian metal juggernauts Semblant, “Vermillion Eclipse“. With “Vermillion Eclipse”, their second album for Frontiers and their fourth overall, the band continues their evolution into a powerful musical force that is difficult to pigeonhole. With far-reaching influences from both metal and rock, Semblant on “Vermillion Eclipse” are at once unique and utterly familiar.

Having already received international praise from the metal community with the release of the album “Lunar Manifesto” (2014) and the hit singles “What Lies Ahead”, “Dark of the Day” and “Incinerate” a combined total of more than 30 million copies YouTube views, “Obscura” featured a band that had taken a huge step forward in their sound and presentation. Tracks like ‘Mere Shadow’, ‘Murder Of Crows’ and ‘Dethrone The Gods, Control The Masters’ are just a few examples of how much the band has matured musically, both in terms of songwriting and performance.

The band were ready to tour with “Obscura” to spread their metal message, but like every other band in the world, the pandemic drastically changed their plans for world domination. Stuck in Brazil and unable to travel to Europe or the United States as planned, Semblant began work on Vermillion Eclipse in 2021. With pent-up energy from the impossibility of touring and the emotional toll of the pandemic (several band members have lost a family member to COVID-19), the band’s songwriting and performances show even more progress here than between their last two releases.

“We hope you love Vermillion Eclipse as much as we do. I usually say that about every new album we put out, but now I feel like that phrase has reached a point that really matters. All of our heart and devotion is put into this music. All the experiences we’ve had during the pandemic and all the moments we’ve locked ourselves in our studios to make music are finally in song form and reaching your hearts and souls. This album is an emotional breaking point. In the course of making this album we lost family members, one of us is delighted at the news that our first child is on the way and we have helped each other through this one crazy time as much as possible to stay healthy and strong. It’s all reflected in the new album,” says singer Sergio Mazul.

Semblant was formed in Curitiba, Brazil in 2006 when vocalist Sergio Mazul and keyboardist J. Augusto teamed up to create music that incorporates all the dark and aggressive elements they appreciate and love in metal music. After a few years of changing line-ups, the group established itself with the addition of Mizuho Lin (female vocals), Juliano Ribeiro (guitar), Welyntom “Thor” Sikora (drums) and Johann Piper (bass) to the band.
