Fatal Attraction – End of Regulation Time 1996

endofregulation_fatalattraction

Risen from the ashes of a funk band (called Kiwi!), Swedish AORsters Fatal Attraction got signed by High Rock Records at the end of 1995 and released their first album, “End Of Regulation Time”, in September 1996. Although this album put them on the Swedish AOR map, nothing was heard from them anymore, until the 4-track EP “Unknown World” was released (again by High Rock Records) in 2001. Back then it was given a rave review by yours truly and I have been waiting for this “Simplicity Rules” ever since.

I don’t know what happened between Fatal Attraction and High Rock Records, but it’s Italian label Adrenaline Records and not High Rock Records that released the album earlier this year. All four tracks from the “Unknown World” EP have found their way to this album as well as 8 other tracks and all of them are classy enough to seduce any lover of AOR. Although there are influences from bands such as Asia, Europe, Foreigner, Mr. Mister, Survivor and Toto, all songs sound original enough to make some necessary impact on the AOR fraternity. With not a single weak track in sight, this is an album you should check out for yourself. I can only hope this is the real launch of their career…
